We start with an absolute classic: an autumn wreath made of colorful leaves. On your next autumn walk, collect some colorful leaves that you like. For example, beech leaves are suitable. Basically, however, you have a free choice.

What you need for an autumn wreath made of colorful leaves:

• Aluminum wire (2 mm thick or thicker)
• artificial autumnal leaves (for example from maple)
• Scissors (possibly a wire cutter)
• possibly styrofoam ring (half or full)
• optional colored jute ribbon

Here's how to do it:

Step 1: Cut a piece of aluminum wire about 20 centimeters long.
Step 2: Thread the autumn leaves one after the other onto the aluminum wire.

Important: Dried leaves are not suitable, they are too brittle.

Step 3: Bend the wire into a wreath.
Step 4: Knot the wire ends. Finished!

Tip: You can also make a pretty autumn wreath yourself from pine cones. The cones can be found in forests and parks. Our instructions focus on all three materials mentioned: hazelnuts, almonds and pine cones.

The decoration looks best when you conjure up a wreath from each of these varieties and then place the three elements together on the table, on the shelf or on the windowsill. Alternatively, the “triumvirate” is also suitable as an autumn door wreath.

What you need for your nut wreath:

Here's how to do it:

Step 1: Use the thin wood drill to drill a hole in each nut and acorn.

Step 2: Cut four pieces of floral wire, each about 20 centimeters long.

What you need for your heart-shaped autumn wreath:

• Heather or lavender branches
• solid green floral wire
• scissors

Here's how to do it:

Step 1: Cut a piece of flower wire with the scissors.

Tip: The length of the piece depends on the size you are targeting for the autumnal heart.

Step 2: Bend the piece of wire into a heart.
Step 3: Put some heather or lavender branches together in a small bundle.

Step 4: Put the bundle on your heart.
Step 5: Wrap the branches and the wire blank with some flower wire. This is for fixation.

Tip: Be sure to use green floral wire for visual reasons.

Step 6: Repeat steps 3 to 5 until the entire wire blank is covered with the heather or lavender splendor.

Basic tip for a magical result: In order to achieve a complete and flower-rich coating, you should fix the small bouquets on top of each other like roof tiles . Always cover the stems of the previous bouquet with those of the new one.

It is warming and simply beautiful to collect colorful leaves and cones in late autumn and to make an autumn wreath yourself in combination with a few additional elements. The result of our following instructions is truly impressive!

Tip: With just a few additional materials, the original autumn wreath can be quickly transformed into a winter or advent wreath. We'll explain how to do it below.

What you need for a late autumn wreath:

• colorful autumn leaves or acorns, almonds
• pinecone
• hydrangea flowers
• Stonecrop (Sedum)
• hay
• little christmas balls
• Straw Roman (15 cm diameter) or willow ring
• Myrtle wire (binding wire with 0.35 mm diameter)
• 1 can of snow spray

Here's how to do it:

Step 1: Attach all natural materials to the straw straw or willow ring - using the binding wire or the colorful fabric ribbons. Pay attention to "harmonious variety" to achieve an attractive whole. The autumn wreath is ready! You can also attach the individual elements to the wreath with hot glue or craft glue.

What you need for a hydrangea wreath:

• Hydrangea flowers in pastel shades

Tip: Allow the hydrangea flowers to dry a few days before handicrafts to extend their shelf life to well over a week.

Here's how to do it:

Step 1: First tie the blank for your wreath. For this purpose, bring flower wire into a round wreath shape. Then wrap this wreath shape diagonally with the wire until you have a stable blank in front of you.

Step 2: Cut the large umbels of the hydrangeas from the thick stem into individual flower branches. Use the pruning shears for this.

Often spurned when picking flowers, a real treasure when crafting autumn wreaths: thistles . Our thistle wreath is an idea for everyone who likes it unusual.

Tip: Ball thistles are available at the edges of fields or as a perennial in / for the garden.

What you need for your thistle wreath:

Instructions for tying a rose and blackberry wreath

You can conjure up a lovely autumn wreath with roses and blackberries, which delight in the colors pink and green.

What you need for a rose-blackberry wreath:

• Willow branches or willow ring
• possibly branches with pink roses
• dried roses (heads) are also suitable
• possibly blackberry branches
• optional solid green floral wire
• secateurs
• stable gardening gloves
• hot glue

Here's how to do it:

Step 1: First tie a wreath of willow branches. These are ideal - they are firm and robust, but at the same time flexible.

Put some willow twigs on the wreath. Get help from another person - they can stabilize the leaping branches or prepare the wire. Wrap the branches with tight wire (first the ends so that the branches do not slip, then the entire willow blank in a serpentine line). Alternatively, take a bound wicker ring and dried roses (heads).

Step 2: Shape the rose and blackberry branches with secateurs. Be careful not to cut the branches too short. Otherwise you will find it difficult to tie the wreath. Alternatively, arrange the dried roses (heads) on the bound wicker wreath.

Step 3: Start fastening and draping the rose and blackberry branches on one side of the homemade willow blank. Combine them into small bouquets and fix them to the wreath with green flower wire. If you have used dried roses (heads), fix them to the wicker wreath with some hot glue or craft glue.

Tip: Work again according to the "roof tile method" (heart wreath instructions). And: Always tighten the wire properly to prevent the arrangement from slipping apart.

Step 4: Hide the last branches by sliding the stems under the leaves, flowers and berries of the autumn wreath. This is how you achieve an invisible degree.
