Origami can be used to make many colorful things - whether as a decoration or part of a present, an animal or an object. In this simple guide for beginners, we show how to fold an origami crab. He is really easy to tinker.

You need cancer for an origami:

• a sheet of origami paper (15 cm x 15 cm or 20 cm x 20 cm)
• Wiggle eyes and glue
• bonefolder

Origami Krebs - Instructions

Step 1: Fold the diagonals of the square and open both folds again.

Note: The side of the paper that will later be outside will face down.

Step 2: Then apply the paper to the back. Now the vertical and horizontal middle are folded. These folds are opened again.

Step 3: Now the square is folded up as follows. Lift the paper off the table and fold the pages with your fingers. At the end you get a triangle, consisting of two layers.

Step 4: Turn the triangle in front of you so that the tip points downwards. Fold the upper layer of the right-hand tip down so that the tip protrudes a few millimeters beyond the edge. Repeat this on the left side as well.

Step 5: Now fold the newly folded tips inwards.

Step 6: Then the paper is turned over. The tip still pointing down is folded 1 to 2 cm upwards.

Step 7: Then fold the top edge down 1 to 2 cm.

Step 8: Now think of an auxiliary line. The runs from the right edge of the lower, small triangle slightly obliquely upward. At this guide fold the right outer edge inwards. Now imagine exactly the same line on the left side and repeat the process.

Step 9: Now the origami cancer has to be turned around. Place the eyes with a dab of glue near the bottom edge in the middle of the head.

Done is the origami cancer! By combining different paper sizes, you can make a whole cancer family. The crabs make themselves a gift in a small plastic bucket next to folded bills, like these frogs: folding money frogs

Note: For the large origami cancer, a paper measuring 15 cm x 15 cm was used. The small Origami Krebs was folded from a quarter of this paper - therefore 7.5 cm x 7.5 cm.
