A bag is not only a practical commodity that absorbs all kinds of utensils - it is often a personal and indispensable companion. Incidentally, the bag has always been an accessory that completes the fashionable outfit perfectly. How convenient, if you can expand the bag assortment with a nice crochet bag.

Here is the guide for a wonderful bag. Crocheted in the shell pattern and decorated with a flower, it fits perfectly into her bag parade and reaps admiring glances when you use her as a handbag.

materials

  • a crochet hook No. 6
  • 150 g matching wool for this needle size: z. Eg "o Schachenmayr", Boston (run length 55 m / 50 g) or "o Myboshi", no. 1 (run length 55 m / 50 g)

Myboshi wool (# 1, color 175 mud) was used for the instruction.

Instructions for the crochet bag

The crochet bag has a width of about 24 cm, the height is variable.

Crochet bag

Start with the ground and then crochet the bag in laps upwards. The soil is then worked in fixed mesh.

First hit 31 air squares and crochet 2 rounds as follows:

Crochet 1: 2 crochet stitches into the 2nd mesh, crochet 27 stitches along the chain, crochet 2 stitches into the last loop, crochet 30 stitches at the bottom of the chain, close the loop with a slit stitch = total of 62 stitches ( including slit stitch).

Crochet 2 rounds 1 of transitional mesh, crochet 2 sts in 2nd mesh, crochet 28 sts, crochet 2 sts in 30th and 31st sts, crochet sts in 32th to 61st sts, 2 sets Crochet the stitches in the last stitch of the round, Kettmasche = a total of 66 stitches.

From now on, the shell pattern is crocheted in rounds until the desired pocket height is reached.

Crochet round 1: 3 transitional air stitches + 2 sticks into the first puncture site, make 2 stitches, crochet 1 crochet, * make 2 stitches, crochet 5 sticks into a puncture site, make 2 stitches, 1 crochet crochet *, crochet this pattern * * Crochet up to 2 stitches before the end of the round, 2 more sticks into the puncture point at the beginning of the round, close with the slit stitch.

Crochet round 2: 1 transitional mesh, crochet 1 crochet, make 2 stitches, crochet 5 sticks in the crochet of the preliminary round, * pass 2 stitches, crochet 1 crochet, make 2 stitches, crochet 5 sticks into the pre-round crochet *, Crochet this sequence * * until 2 stitches before the end of the round, 2 stitches, warp stitch.

Repeat these two rounds until your crochet bag has reached the desired height.

As a conclusion follow 4 rounds of fixed stitches:

Crochet 1: 1 transitional air stitch and then crochet a single crochet in each stitch.

Round 2: Then crochet crochet stitches and chop off the 2nd and 3rd, the 30th and 31st, the 36th and 37th as well as the 64th and 65th stitch together = 62 stitches

Round 3 + 4: Crochet Stitchy Stitches and make 4 Decreases on the right and left as in the Preliminary Round.

Cut the thread before the last stitch stitch and then pull it through the crocheted stitch. Then sew the thread well.

Crochet bag handle

The bag handles are crocheted in strong stitches, first in several rows and then in spiral circles:

First, make 5 stitches and crochet 3 rows: 1 transitional mesh each, 5 meshes.

Row 4: Crochet the transitional air stitch, crochet 2 solid loops, double the 3rd stitch (make two stitches in the same stitch and crochet tight loops), crochet 2 stitches.

From now on crocheting in spiral rounds. To do this, fold the crocheted piece together and, to close the circle, stick it into the stitch on the other side. Continue to crochet until the length of the pocket handle is reached.

As a conclusion, there are 4 open rows again: Turn over the work after the last tight loop of the spiral rounds, crochet a transitional air stitch (photo) and 1 tight stitch. The next two stitches are mashed together, followed by 2 fixed stitches. Now the row again shows 5 stitches. Then crochet 3 more rows: 1 transitional air stitch, 5 air stitches.

Now the bag handle is sewn to the right and left pockets.

Alternatively, two pocket handles can be worked. Then sew these on the right and left sides of the front and back of the bag.

Crochet pocket closure

So that the bag does not remain completely open, she gets a snap closure. Count the top stitches on the back of the bag and mark the third stitch on the right side of the center. Here, a loop is pulled through and then crocheted a tight loop. Crochet 6 stiches. (Photo) Followed by 4 rows, each with 1 transitional air mesh and 5 fixed stitches. The last row consists of 7 air stitches and a fixed stitch at the end of the row. Then sew the beginning and end thread of the pocket closure.

Now sew a big button on the front. So then the bag will be closed.

Enlarge or reduce the bag size

You just want to crochet a tiny little bag or a big shopping bag. No problem - just reduce or increase the mesh size accordingly. Make sure, however, that the number of stitches in the pattern area can be divided by 6. (A pattern set goes over 6 stitches.)

Quick Start - Crochet bag

  • For the bottom of the bag cast on 31 sts and crochet them with 2 rounds of sturdy stitches (2 increases left and right = 66 stitches)
  • continue to crochet in turns, alternating the pattern of round 1 and round 2 work
  • Turn round 1: 2 stitches, crochet 5 sticks into a puncture point, knit 2 stitches, crochet 1 crochet stitch 2: 2 stitches, crochet 1 crochet stitch, 2 stitches, crochet 5 sticks in the tight loop of the preliminary round
  • Crochet 1 or 2 bag handles and sew to the bag
  • If necessary, crochet a bag closure with eyelet, sew on and sew on a button

Have fun crocheting and using the beautiful bag!
