A classic men's scarf is more than just a neckwarmer. He emphasizes the well-groomed appearance of the wearer. For the fashionable man, a fancy scarf is therefore an absolute must. With our free guide even beginners can help the man at their side to a stylish appearance.

Our men's scarf we knitted in a subtle color, but used a pattern with special charm. The knitting pattern is easy to knit, but gives the scarf its noble character. You do not need any special knitting skills. Right and left stitches, our own knitted scarf does not demand any more.

Material and preparation

To knit a classic chic men's scarf, you also need a correspondingly good wool. A knitting yarn that is worn directly on the skin should be particularly soft. We opted for a soft merino wool. The yarn entangled by us corresponds to the line 155 of ONline wool. Extra fine and fluffy soft.

For gentlemen who want a particularly fluffy men's scarf, there are also yarns made of alpaca wool. Lana Grossa offers an extra soft alpaca wool, ALPACA Peru 200.

Wool Rödel has another option in its offer. Wool Rödel is well known for good stocking wool. And with these yarns wonderful accessories can be knit. With the Rico Superba Classic 6-ply, a new wool yarn from Wolle Rödel, a chic and durable men's scarf can be knitted.

So much wool you need after our knitting instructions:

• Our yarn has a running length of 100 meters / 200 grams
• 250 grams of wool
• Normal knitting needles of needle size 3 - 3.5
• 1 tape measure

Do not be afraid to knit with your wool. Just as every yarn behaves differently when knitting, every knitter has her own knitting behavior.

If you knit tightly, you should probably knit with a strong knitting needle, if you knit loosely you should work with a smaller knitting needle size. To see how your yarn is related to your knitting needles and your knitting, make sure to knit a small knit. You can also knit the first 5 centimeters with another needle. So you can see exactly which mesh sample you like better.

Note: For a wider formwork version, which is extended, for example, by a pattern set of 5 stitches, then also the odd mesh stop changes in a straight stop.

From the 11th row you start again with the sequence from the 1st to the 10th row.

Tip: If a row begins with left stitches, it must also end with left stitches. If a row begins with right stitches, it must also end with right stitches.

This pattern gives a nice stitching on the right as well as the left side. That means the men's scarf can be worn on both sides.

A clean edge mesh

A clean knit edge stitch is the figurehead of every knitting work.

These knit like this:

In each row, the edge stitch is lifted only from the left needle to the right needle.

In each back row, the last stitch, the edge stitch, is knit as the right stitch.

Knit men's scarf

The chic scarf of our guide has the following dimensions:

• Width: 25 centimeters
• Length: 165 centimeters

These steps one after the other:

• Stop = 61 stitches
• Knit in rows
• Knit the rows of the basic pattern 1 - 10 until you reach the desired sound length

• Last row
• Bind off all stitches
• Sew the work threads

The pattern of this scarf consists of 2 pattern sets of 3 rows each. The 1st pattern set starts in the 1st row with left stitches and ends in the 3rd row with left stitches. In the second pattern set, the meshes are simply offset. Here the first row begins with right stitches and ends in the third row also with right stitches. These two sets of patterns are interrupted by 2 rows each of right or left stitches. After the first set of patterns, the 4th round begins with right-hand stitches. After the second pattern set, the 9th round begins with left stitches. If you knit this sequence 2 or 3 times, you will not need any instructions. Then you will immediately recognize which row to knit next.

Now the men's scarf is completed. The subtle pattern and the colors are not too playful - the men's scarf looks very noble and high quality.

Pattern - knitting font

Our knitting font has a pattern width of only 31 stitches. For the additional knit stitches you want to widen your scarf, simply knit the stitches between the first and last 6 stitches, the stitches between the asterisks, several times.
