The only thing that requires this manual work is a little patience. But it comes all by itself when you see how beautiful your crocheted vest will be in the ongoing work.

Material and preparation

Before you crochet this vest, you need to consider when it should be worn predominantly. What purpose should it fulfill ">

And for the cold season, when the blouse does not warm enough on its own, we recommend a light virgin wool blended yarn.

We have chosen a mercerised cotton yarn, which is also recommended as a year-round yarn.

It corresponds to the Mille Fili cotton yarn by Wolle Rödel. Crocheted we crocheted with a needle size of 3 mm.

Tip: Each yarn gives this crochet work its own character. Therefore, you should put special emphasis on the yarn selection.

According to our instructions you need for size 38:

  • 400 cotton yarn / 315 meter run length on 100 grams of yarn
  • 1 crochet hook 3 mm thick

You should be able to crochet these crochet meshes:

  • stitches
  • Fixed stitches
  • Simple chopsticks
  • Double chopsticks

The petals are crocheted like this:

A petal consists of 3 double sticks in the bundle. To make it look like a leaf, the last two loops of the first double stick are left on the needle. This also applies to the 2nd double stick. After this double tr. There are three loops on the needle. Only after the 3rd double stick the remaining 4 loops are crocheted all at once. So the flower has two tips. Once at the puncture and once at the flower tip. We shorten the double sticks in the bundle like this: double sticks iB

Basic pattern for the flower pattern

Our basic pattern is a large-sized floral pattern. It consists of six petals. Each flower is framed by a simple pattern of holes.

Tip: Before you start with the crochet work, we recommend a small sample production with your yarn.

We have struck for our sample 29 stitches + 2 climbing-air mesh.

The basic pattern presented shows you the flower sequence as well as the right and the left edge. The flowery sequence is repeated several times in each row. Each flower is completed in the second row. Only the edges change in the sequence. In our basic pattern stitching, you quickly identify the four rows in which the pattern is being worked.

attack

  • 29 air meshes + 2 climbing air meshes

2nd row

  • Work 1 chopstick in each preliminary round of air.

1st row pattern

From this series begins the basic pattern:

  • 5 climbing air meshes + 2 connecting air meshes
  • Omit 2 stitches from the preliminary round
  • In the 3rd stitch: Crochet 1 double swatch, 5 air stitches, 1 double swab.

Now it gets refined: The 1st petal is directly attached to this first double rod. Crochet 4 pieces of air. Then pierce into the first air mesh of these 4 air meshes and work 2 double sticks iB into this air mesh. This petal consists of 4 air meshes and 2 double sticks in the bundle. Omit 2 stitches from the preliminary round.

The second petal follows:

Crochet 3 double swabs in a bundle in the 3rd stitch

Leave 4 stitches of the preliminary round. Crochet the 3rd petal in the following 5th stitch. Then work 3 double sticks in the bundle.

At this 3rd petal the 4th leaf is crocheted. Crochet 4 pieces of air. Crochet 2 double swabs in a bundle in the 1st mesh of this 4 stitches.

The lower part of the flower is completed.

The next hole pattern follows:

  • Omit 2 stitches from the preliminary round.
  • In the 3rd stitch: Crochet 1 double swatch, 5 air stitches, 1 double swab.

Attach a petal to this lace pattern:

  • 4 air stitches with 2 double sticks iB in the 1st air mesh
  • 2 air meshes of the preliminary round omit

In the 3rd air mesh again a petal from:

  • Work 3 double bars iB
  • Leave 4 meshes
  • Crochet a petal of 3 double sticks iB into the 5th air mesh.

The following is a hanging sheet:

  • 4 air meshes

Crochet one petal out of 2 double swabs in the first of the 4 meshes.

In the normal crochet work for the vest these sequences of petals and hole patterns are always repeated. The first row ends with a hole pattern. That is, omit 2 Luftmaschen the preliminary round.

  • In the 3rd air mesh: 1 double sticks, 5 air stitches, 1 double stick work.
  • 2 air meshes as connecting stitches.
  • In the last stitch of the preliminary round, crochet 1 double swathe as edge stitch.
  • Turn the work over
  • Crochet 5 criss-crosses

2nd row pattern

To the 5 Steigeluftmaschen work again 5 air meshes. In the first hole pattern
Crochet 1 tight stitch. These can simply be crocheted around the chain of mesh.

  • Crochet 7 pieces of air

Now comes the 5th petal. To do so, stick in the middle of the petals from the preliminary round and crochet:

  • 3 double sticks iB
  • 3 air meshes
  • 3 double sticks iB

The first flower is complete with 6 petals. Then crochet 7 air stitches.

In the following hole pattern from the preliminary round:

  • 1 solid stitch work
  • 7 air meshes

In the coming flowering again:

  • 3 double sticks iB
  • 3 air meshes
  • Crochet 2 double swabs iB

The 2nd row ends with:

  • 7 air meshes
  • 1 tight stitch in the hole pattern of the preliminary round
  • 5 air meshes
  • 1 double stick in the 5th ascending air mesh of the preliminary round

Turn the work and 5 riser meshes.

3rd row pattern

The flowers are always worked offset. In other words, a flower pattern is created over a pattern of holes and a pattern of holes is created over a flower. Thus, the 3rd row begins with a flower.

The first flower is worked directly after the 5 ascending air meshes:

  • 4 air meshes
  • Crochet 2 double swaths iB in the first of these 4 air stitches

The 2nd Blossom works in the 3rd Air Mesh of the first Air Mesh Arch of the Preliminary Round
3 double sticks iB

Crochet the third petal into the 4th air mesh of the second round of air of the preliminary round. 3 double sticks iB

The 4th petal is attached to the third petal again.

  • 4 air meshes
  • 2 double sticks iB

About the bloom of the preliminary round is now a hole pattern of double rods. In the second air mesh, this is the small chain of air of the preliminary round between two petals, crochet:

  • 1 double stick
  • 5 air meshes
  • 1 double stick

A petal is attached to this new hole pattern.

  • 4 air meshes
  • 2 double sticks iB

In the two air-mesh arches of the preliminary round flowers of 3 double rods iB are worked into the respective 4th air mesh of the bow.

Also on this third petal a fourth petal is attached.

  • 4 air meshes
  • 2 double sticks iB

Immediately afterwards in the small chain of air of the preliminary round a hole pattern:

  • 1 double stick
  • 5 air meshes
  • Crochet 1 double stick.

Crochet the entire row according to this scheme. In other words, the petals are worked into the large arches of the air and between the blossoms a crochet pattern of double rods is crocheted.

Crochet 1 petal at the end of the row in the next two large arcs.

The 4th petal is attached to the third leaf. Work the petals as in the previous examples. The series ends with a double stick in the 5th Steigeluftmasche.

Turn the work and crochet 5 risers.

4th row pattern

  • The series starts with 2 connecting air meshes.
  • In the middle of the flower again two petals work.
  • 3 double sticks iB
  • 3 air meshes
  • 3 double sticks iB

This is followed by two arcs with 7 air stitches each. They are separated with 1 sturdy stitch into the small air mesh arch of the hole pattern of the previous row.

These two steps are now repeated throughout the series. Two petals work in the flower and two arcs of air that connect the flowers. The series is completed with 2 air stitches and 1 double swipe.

Tip: To master the sequence, we recommend that you crochet these 4 rows twice in a sample. Then you already recognize during crocheting, which row is pending and how it is to crochet.

The pattern is not difficult. It only needs some counting and compliance with each step.

Instructions - Crochet vest in size 38

attack

  • 82 air meshes
  • 2 ascending air meshes

1st row

  • Work 1 stick in each of the 82 air meshes

2nd row

From this series begins the basic pattern of the vest, as we have described above.

Important: If a row begins with a hole pattern consisting of double swatches, that row also ends up with that hole pattern.

This also applies to every other row start. If the row starts with a flower, it ends with a flower. Or if she begins with a chain of aerial stitches, she ends up with a chain of airmuffs.

The individual parts

Crochet all 3 pieces for this vest the same size. For size 38 we have one:

  • Width of 50 centimeters and one
  • Crochet length of 75 centimeters.

If you want to crochet a larger vest, then always enlarge it by a rapport. A sequence (repeat) contains 11 stitches. This sequence consists of:

2 air meshes - 1 air mesh for the hole pattern with double sticks - 2 free air meshes - 1 air mesh for the 1st petal - 4 free air meshes - 1 air mesh for the 2nd petal = 11 meshes

That means with the enlargement of the vest, that you can always enlarge / reduce by 1 rapport. 11 stitches correspond to about 6 centimeters in our yarn thickness.

The start of the row and the end of the row correspond to approx. 2 centimeters = 5 stitches + edge stitch.

So you can calculate yourself which number of stitches you need for your size.
It will be easier for you if you look at our crochet script. You have the number of stitches right in front of you.

completion

After you've finished crocheting all 3 pieces, the fastest work, the crocheting of the individual parts comes. Lay the 3 crocheted pieces together so that you put the two front pieces folded in half on the back piece. You can now determine how wide your shoulders should be and how long you want the sleeve to be. Mark this with a colorful thread. At size 38 we have a shoulder seam of 20 centimeters. The armhole is 25 centimeters high. Now you can crochet the two front pieces on the back piece.

We have chosen a very simple method of crocheting. To do this, place the pieces one above the other on the right side and crochet the pieces together on the left side.

You always have the same pattern on both sides. That is, it is lace pattern on lace pattern and flower on blossom. This greatly simplifies crocheting. Simply crochet these edge stitches of the hole pattern with tight stitches. In the big holes fit 4 fixed stitches and in the small fit 3 fixed stitches. For the petals, we have stung two solid stitches through the flowers. It creates a wonderful seam that holds together well, but does not stand out.

After this crochet you can do the pattern exactly:
