Wrapping paper

Stable pattern paper

Wrapping papers are available in abundance with the most colorful and creative patterns. Especially at Christmas you can really let it rip - be it glitter paper, geographic patterns, classic Christmas motifs or even uplifting textured paper. There are all sorts of variants and designs for Christmas presents.

If you prefer wrapping paper, grab some sturdier paper - very thin, cheap paper can get nasty cracks when folded, as shown in the picture. But you can also avoid it by being extra careful.

Paint the paper yourself

You can also individually package Christmas presents! All you need is plain, sturdy wrapping paper - this is often in a light shade of brown. Simply wrap the gift with the paper and then it will be painted or described with fine felt pens. That can be Christmas or just to match the gift!

Fast alternative

If you need a fast, yet creative version for wrapping paper, we recommend newspaper or posters! This is not for everyone, but with the necessary decoration for a real eye-catcher under the Christmas tree! So everyone knows at first glance, which gifts were packed by you. ????

Tips and tricks for packing

Angular Christmas gifts

A good trick to wrap shapeless gifts with many rough edges is: Stow the gift in a cardboard box or gift box. You can then easily pack them with wrapping paper.

You need:

• Wrapping paper
• scissors
• duct tape
• Geschenkband

Step 1: First, the wrapping paper must be cut. For this you put the gift on sufficiently rolled out paper. The paper must be able to completely enclose the gift on all sides. To do this, fold the gift over all four sides of the paper from right to left. Cut off the paper. Before cutting, consider how to save paper. So it should not be too big either.

Step 2: Place the wrapping paper on the table, face down. Place the box in the middle of gift - the top of the gift points down to the table. Lay the gift with the paper in front of you so that it is aligned vertically.

Note: If you are using patterned paper, be careful which direction the pattern is going. You may need to turn the present - so adjust it in alignment to the pattern on the paper.

Step 3: Start with the left and right sides. Fold both sides of the paper by about 1 cm. So no frayed cutting edge can be seen later.

Step 4: Place the right side around the gift. Then place the left side over it and attach it with a piece of tape in the middle.

Step 5: Now, devote yourself to the side of the present that points to you. Fold the paper down the middle of the edge. Fix everything in the middle with another piece of tape.

Step 6: Then smooth the bevels on the left and right with your fingers. There are two triangles.

Step 7: These triangles are now turned inwards.

Step 8: The tab on the table is folded in to the edge of the present. Then fold it up and fasten it with a piece of Tesa.

Step 9: Now repeat steps 5 through 8 on the other side of the gift. Make sure that it does not slip and that the paper is tight. Finished!

Round Christmas gifts

You need:

• Wrapping paper
• scissors
• duct tape

Step 1: Cut the wrapping paper at the beginning. You need a strip that is slightly longer in length than the circumference of the circle. The width of the strip is composed of: height of the gift + 2 x radius of the circle.

Step 2: The paper is now placed on the table in portrait format in front of you - the beautiful side down. Place the round box on the side of the strip and attach the bottom edge of the paper to the box with two strips of tape.

Step 3: Hit another, opposite edge of the paper strip 1 cm.

Step 4: Now you roll in the box with the paper completely and fix the conclusion with tape.

Step 5: Now carefully place the gift on one side - make sure that the paper does not buckle too much.

Step 6: The top is now turned piece by piece counterclockwise with folds. Start at the point where the paper was closed. Now fold it all around until the page is completely packed. Now push the last tip inwards under the first fold. Finally, you can fix everything with a piece of tape.

Step 7: Turn the package over and repeat step 6 on the other side.

Without tape - Japanese

You need:

• Wrapping paper
• scissors
• possibly a folding bone

Step 1: At the beginning you need a big enough piece of wrapping paper. Roll out the paper. Then measure the paper from the left outer edge with the gift. The gift must be completely packed. To do this, fold all four sides of the present one after the other to the right. In addition, you still need a handful of paper more. Cut off the paper.

Step 2: Fold a corner of the paper so that you can cut a square out of it.

3rd step: The paper lies with the beautiful side down in front of you. The present is now placed on the paper as follows. Place it diagonally in the middle.

Step 5: Pull the lower right corner diagonally up over the present, the point should now be exactly at the edge. Left and right triangles are divided - these should be the same size.

Step 6: Using the scissors or the tip of a folding bone, move to the lower edge on the right side.

Step 7: Hit the right side with a fold. You see, it forms an upstanding triangle - this is simply hit with. At the top, this side should now end a few centimeters with the edge and then run diagonally to the top left.

Step 8: Repeat step 6 on the left. The two lower corners are now finished.

Step 9: Now devote yourself to the other corners. Traverse the following edges with the weatherstrip on the left and right as before. After that, pull the paper straight up and vertically over the present - the left and right wrinkles should form by themselves.

Step 10: Smooth the paper and beat it around the last edge.

Step 11: Then take the protruding tip and hide it in the flap.

The gift should now be packed by itself - and without tape!

Creative packaging: partitions

You need:

• Wrapping paper
• scissors
• double-sided adhesive tape

Step 1: At the beginning, you will need a strip of wrapping paper. This one has the width of the present. Cut the strip.

Step 2: Then lay the strip in a vertical position in front of you on the table and fold it into a zig-zag with strips of about 1.5 cm to 2 cm in width.

Step 3: Fold the folded strip together in the middle.

Step 4: Then cut the open end of the fan around with the scissors.

Step 5: The two halves of the fan are now glued together with a small piece of double-sided tape.

The fan itself is already completed and can be attached to the gift with tape.
