Make Christmas angels

Making heavenly Christmas angels is equally a wonderful crafting idea for big and small craft lovers. The little heavenly messengers are always a nice, self-made souvenir for the family and friends. Also suitable as decoration for the Christmas wreath are the magical Christmas angels. The little heavenly creatures also complete every colorful and mysterious Christmas present. In our step-by-step tutorial, we'll show you how to make a variety of Christmas angels.

Christmas Angel - Variant 1

With this crafting idea you make a Christmas angel in cone shape. A larger cone forms the body of the Christmas angel, and two smaller cones form the two arms. In the following we have explained and listed all crafting steps.

required materials:

  • two sheets of Christmas pattern paper in the format 15 x 15 cm, 80 g / m 2 or colored construction paper
  • a larger wooden bead for the head, a few small white seed beads glass or plastic beads and a medium wooden bead
  • a few colorful buttons made of plastic or wooden buttons are usable
  • Circle or round objects for the circular shapes
  • scissors
  • Bastelleim or hot glue
  • a little craft wire copper or other color, as you like
  • bonefolder

Step 1: First, pick up a piece of Christmas pattern paper measuring 15 x 15 cm . Using a compass, draw a larger circle with a diameter of 14 centimeters on one piece of sample paper and a smaller circle with a diameter of 8 centimeters on the other piece of paper. From the rest of the sample paper cut out a triangle that fits into one half of the big circle.

Tip: If you do not have the paper size of 15 x 15 cm close at hand, you can also cut A4 size paper to this size or create the circular shapes from the A4 size with the compass and then cut out. Even a paper cutter can be used to cut the desired paper even faster.

Step 2: Now fold the two halves together, then fold them up again and cut the circles both in half with scissors in half.

Tip: To cut the circles apart, after the central fold, the paper cutting machine can also be used, if available.

Step 3: Now form one half of the big circle into a cone by rolling up half the circle. Then use a little hot glue to fix the conical shape.

Step 4: Stick the triangle on the cone from the other sample paper. The lower tip of the triangle does not protrude beyond the lower edge of the cone, but closes a few millimeters in front of it.

Step 5: In this step, cut about 20 cm from the thin craft wire, and then thread a small white bead in the center of the wire and twist it once or twice under the bead. Then thread another white pearl through both ends of the wire and then follow the larger wooden ball. Then a third white bead is threaded. Now comes the button, which is also pushed on the wire. Underneath the knob, twist the two wire ends together again in a few turns.

Step 6: Pass the wire ends from the top center through the cone. If the cone shows no or only a small opening at its tip, use a pair of scissors to cut a small hole. From the bottom, place a medium wooden ball on the wire ends and twist the remaining wire again. Then simply cut off the protruding wire ends with scissors.

Tip: If the head of the Christmas angel does not have enough hold, just put some hot glue under the button and attach the head to the cone shape. Before attaching the headboard, you can also cut off the cone shape at the top a little bit so that the button that forms the collar rests even better on the cone shape and finally fix it with a little hot glue.

Step 7: From the two halves of the second pattern paper from the smaller paper circle, form two more small cones as before, and glue both cones together with hot glue.

Step 8: In the last step, stick the two smaller conical shapes on the side, right and left, to the large conical shape with hot glue.

And Schwuppdiwupp is your first Christmas angel made of paper and can be used as a magical souvenir for a loved one, as a decoration for the table decoration or the Advent wreath.

Christmas Angel - Variant 2

This crafting idea is a very special Christmas angel with a gown folded out of a circle.

required materials:

  • one to two sheets of Christmas pattern paper in the format 15 x 15 cm, 80 g / m 2 or colored construction paper, for the wings also sample paper remains are usable
  • a larger wooden bead for the head and a smaller colored bead
  • a few colorful buttons made of plastic or wooden buttons are usable
  • Circle or round objects for the circular shapes
  • scissors
  • Needle for threading the wooden beads
  • Bastelleim or hot glue
  • some yarn or thread for the suspension loop
  • bonefolder

Step 1: First of all, pick up a piece of sample paper measuring 15 x 15 cm . The printed side is down. Draw a circle with a diameter of 14 cm with a compass. Then cut the circle with scissors.

Tip: If you do not have a compass at hand, you can also use a round object, such as a glass or similar. Even empty gift tape rolls are suitable as a circle template.

Step 2: Fold the circle in half. Now fold the resulting semicircle three more times in the middle. It is always an outside folded on the other outside. Pull all your folds with the Falzbein after. At the end of this step you have folded the circular paper a total of four times. There are 16 folds, with eight of them pointing down and eight of them pointing upwards, always in alternation. The robe of the angel is now completed.

Step 3: Now continue with needle and thread. Put the needle on a piece of yarn and at the end of the thread enter a double knot. Thread the needle through the garment from below and first put a button on it and pull the yarn through the holes of the button a couple of times so that it fits tightly. Then thread the larger and the smaller pearl on needle and thread. At the end of the threaded beads put a double knot again.

Tip: If the first double knot slips out again, simply tie the knot even thicker by adding a few double knots or tie a small bead on the double knot from below first, so that the thread holds firmly under the robe.

Step 4: Now pick up a piece of sample paper in semicircular form and cut it in the middle with the scissors. This will give you two triangles rounded to one side. Each time, fold them twice in the middle as you did in step two with the other piece of sample paper. The middle tip folds up, resulting in two small fan parts, which form the wings of the Christmas angel. Fold the folds again here with the Falzbein.

Step 5: Glue the two small compartments, right and left, to the side of the angel.

In just a few steps, your second Christmas angel is ready and he is just waiting to find a nice place at your home or to get hold of a Christmas tree as a place on the Christmas tree.

Christmas Angel - Variant 3

For this Christmas angel version, you also need only a few materials to create a charming angel made of paper.

required materials:

  • a sheet of Christmas pattern paper in the format 15 x 15 cm, 80 g / m 2 or colored construction paper, the paper types can also be mixed
  • a few colorful decoration stones for decorating the little heavenly messengers
  • Circle or round objects for the circular shapes
  • scissors
  • pinking shears
  • ruler
  • pencil
  • Bastelleim or hot glue
  • some yarn or thread for the suspension loop
  • bonefolder

Step 1: First, start again with a piece of sample paper measuring 15 x 15 cm . Use a compass to draw a 14 cm diameter circle. Then cut out this circle.

Tip: Do not throw away the rest of the paper, it can later make the head of the Christmas angel.

Step 2: Fold the circle in half. The folded center line lies vertically in front of you and the printed sample paper side is facing down. Now place your index and middle fingers to the right and then to the left of this midline and place a small marker with the pencil there.

Step 3: Measure 4 cm from the top, inward along the midline, with the ruler and place a small pencil mark here as well. Draw the 4 cm line with the pencil on the paper. Then connect all the points together, creating a triangle with a dash on the top.

Step 4: Cut the circle with the painted triangular shape with the scissors into three parts. The curves on the three parts are rounded off with a pinking scissors. This gives the paper a particularly decorative finish.

Step 5: From the leftover paper remnant from the circle cutting in the first step, the head is now created. Use the compass to draw a 3 cm diameter circle. Cut out this with the pair of scissors. Then paint a small rectangle on a piece of paper and cut it out. The rectangle becomes the junction between the head and body parts.

Step 6: Stick the small rectangle to the small circle with some hot glue.

Step 7: Take the triangle, which represents the body of the paper gel, and fold the top tip a little bit down. Then attach the head to the body with hot glue. The small folded down tip you succeed even easier.

Step 8: The Christmas angel is almost finished. Now just stick together the two wing parts by laying both parts on top of each other, creating a kind of V-shape. Now attach the wings to the body with hot glue and your third Christmas angel is born.

Tip: With a piece of thread or yarn you can attach a small suspension loop to the head of the paper gel and fix it there with hot glue. The size and shapes of each Christmas angel can be varied as you wish. This is how many different paper angels come up with Christmas angels.

We wish you and your little ones a lot of joy in the after-crafting, decorating and giving away the very individual and heavenly Christmas angels.
