Over the last few years, the classic shawl has evolved into a fashionable, multi-purpose weapon that easily puts you in the front line when it comes to style. Whether casually draped or voluminously caressing - a knitted cloth fulfills its mission anyway with flying colors.

Here a shawl in triangular form is shown. Easy to knit patterns provide variety in the structure and a wool with gradient brings color accents without the need to constantly tangled different balls. Have fun knitting the cloth!

preparation

material

When choosing the wool for the knitted shawl there are actually no mandatory requirements. Be inspired by the beautiful color gradients offered by all wool manufacturers and complete your wardrobe as needed.

For the knitted shawl knitted here a wool mixture was used, which can be used with needles No. 7 - 8. There were about 200 grams entangled. Thinner and slightly thicker wool is just as well suited. The mesh counts are the same for all yarn counts. For thinner yarns, simply knit several rows until the desired size of your knitted shoulder cloth is achieved.

Size and pattern

The shawl is knitted from the lower tip to the top. Beginning with 3 Stitch Stitches, knit increases in each row (front) left and right. So the cloth runs v-shaped to a triangle.

Start with pattern I and then knit the sequence two or more times until your cloth is big enough.

Pattern I: kraus right = Knit right stitches on the front and back.

Pattern II: smooth right = knit right stitches on the front and left stitches on the back

Pattern III: Pear Pattern = On the front, knit alternately * 1 stitch on the right and 1 stitch on the left *. Repeat this stitch * * until the end of the series. At the back the stitches are knitted in opposite directions: 1 stitch left, 1 stitch right (knit right stitches on the stitches appearing on the left and knit left stitches on the stitches appearing on the right).

Pattern IV: Lace Pattern = Knit * 2 stitches on the right side of the row (front), and then take an envelope on the needle *. Repeat this stitch * * until the end of the series. Knitt off the stitches and envelopes on the back of the (back row) back.

Instructions - knit the cloth

Worth knowing at the beginning

Edge stitching: Kick off the front (right) edge stitch: from the back, stitch into the first stitch and knit off the stitch on the right. The back (left) edge stitch does not knit: simply lay the work thread forward and lift off the last stitch. Now the work is turned and the front edge stitch can be knitted again.

Stop and pattern sequence

Hit 3 stitches!

Row 1 (front): Knit 1 edge stitch - from 1 stitch Knit 2 stitches on the right: Knit off the stitch on the right, but leave the stitch on the left needle, cut into the stitch at the back and knit off the stitch on the right - Remove edge stitch.

Row 2 (back side): Knit 1 edge stitch - knit 2 stitches out of 1 stitch on the right - knit 2 stitches on the right side out of the next stitch - lift off edge stitch.

Row 3 (front): Knit 1 edge stitch - knit 2 stitches on the right - knit off 2 stitches on the right - knit 2 stitches on the right - remove edge stitch

Row 4 (back side): Knit 1 edge stitch - knit 2 stitches on the right side - knit off 4 stitches on the right - knit 2 stitches on the right - remove the edge stitch

From row 5: From this row on the front right and left stitches are increased. Between the increases, the stitches are knitted in each pattern.

Right edge on back: Knit 1 edge stitch - Knit off 2 stitches on the right - Knit turn-off on the right / Left edge on the back: Knit off the right-hand piece, Knit off 2 stitches on the right - Take off the edge stitch.

Row 5 - Row 25: Knit the edge as described and knit in pattern I in between.

Stitching stitch row 5: edge stitch - 2 stitches on the right - knit the piece on the right - 6 stitches on the right - knit the piece on the right - 2 stitches on the right - edge stitch

The mesh size in the middle area (pattern area) increases by 2 in every 2nd row.

template

Pattern I: kraus right (20 rows) - Pattern II: smooth right (10 rows) - Pattern III: pear pattern (10 rows) - Pattern II: smooth right (6 rows) - Pattern IV: lace pattern (2 rows = 1 row, 1 back row) - Pattern II: smooth right (6 rows)

1 of 2

For the knitted shawl in this tutorial, the sequence was knitted twice in total. The conclusion is 20 rows of pattern I and at the top of the cloth is bordered by 2 graduation rows.

end row

Row = Knit 1 Edge Stitch - Knit 2 Stitches Right - Take 1 Envelope on the Needle - * One Stitch on the Right, One Stitch on the Left *; Continue the stitching * * up to 3 stitches before the end of the row - knit the increase at the left edge: Take 1 turn on the needle, knit 2 stitches on the right - lift off the edge stitch.

Back row: The back row is also knitted.

For thick wool knit 2 rows and for slightly thinner wool 4 or even 6 rows.

Now chain off the stitches and make sure that the binding stitches are loosely knit. If this is difficult for you, just take a thicker needle for the abrade.

quick start Guide

  • Cast on 3 stitches and then increase a stitch in each row to the left and right:
