The sweet star pattern results in a pleasantly firm structure. It is also known by the name daisy or daisy pattern. The asterisks are often repeated and are therefore very effective on small areas. Knitted from thick wool in a light color, the pattern gives winter accessories a twist. The stars are like snowflakes.

You need a mesh size that can be divided by four, as well as an extra pocket. For example, knit with 17 or 21 stitches to practice. First, we explain how to knit the stars. Then you will learn how to make a pattern out of it.

Knitting little stars

1. Knitting three stitches together on the left. To do so, stick in three stitches at the same time. Do not let the stitches slide off the left needle yet. On the second photo you can see the three old stitches on the left and the new stitch knitted out on the right.

2. Work an envelope. To do this, wind the thread once around the right needle starting from the top. This results in a new stitch.

3. Knitt the three stitches you left on the left needle together again on the left side. This time drop the stitched stitches. Ready is the first star! From three old stitches, three new ones have been created, so that the mesh size remains the same overall.

Tip: As you knit the star, you are looking at the back of your project. Do not worry if your star also looks different from the right side, at first, than in the photo of the finished pattern. Only after another row do the stars take on their final form.

3. Work the big star in the pear pattern. This results in a beautiful, sculptural effect. To do this, knit alternately a right and a left stitch in the area of the motif. Move the stitches in each row so that each knot has a flat stitch and vice versa. The background remains smooth right.

4. Knit the star in a different color than the background. Pass a thread of each color over your finger. The one you do not need right now, you can easily run along the back of the work.
