However, it is considerably cooler to produce the required solution and suitable pustering yourself. Here you will learn which ingredients you need in which ratio for your desired bubble creation and how to implement the recipe step by step!

Pustefix saw the light of day in the 1950s - and more or less coincidentally: When a certain Rolf Hein actually wanted to produce detergent, great iridescent soap bubbles were created while experimenting instead of fine foam. And Hein knew this "mishap", which soon turned out to be a celebrated market sensation, to use perfectly. Meanwhile, the Pustefix soap bubbles are almost everyone's idea. Clearly, as a result, other creative minds began to tinker with recipes for the pretty bubbles. And most of them are no longer a secret. We have tried some common ideas for you and present you our Top 3. In addition, we give you practical tips on how to make Pusteringe yourself and make using the crafted utensils small, medium and even impressive giant soap bubbles!

First of all, we take care of producing the soap bubble solution, which depends above all on the correct mixing ratio of the individual ingredients and which you can use to refill your old Pustefix can, for example. After intensive research and many attempts, we finally decided on three variants, which we call the pharmacy, hardware store and kitchen recipe and tell you in detail. After that, we will show you different methods for producing a pustering, which of course it takes to make the bubbles dance in the air. Follow our easy-to-follow instructions and you'll get great solutions for gorgeous shimmering soap bubbles!

Recipes for soap bubble solutions

The hardware store recipe

What you need for this:

• 5 liters of water
• 75 g of sugar
• 375 ml neutral soap
• 130 g wallpaper paste
• 1 large bowl
• measuring cup
• Whisk or other mixer

Note: The amount of 5 liters is ideal if you want to make giant soap bubbles.

How to proceed exactly:

Step 1: Dissolve 75 grams of sugar in 500 milliliters of water. That the sugar has completely dissolved, you can tell by the clear water.

Tip: You can use, for example, powdered sugar as well as glucose.

Step 2: Add 375 milliliters of neutral soap and 130 grams of wallpaper paste and carefully mix the ingredients.

Step 3: Stir the resulting solution into 4.5 liters of warm water.

Step 4: Leave the mixture overnight.

Step 5: As with the soap bubble solution with glycerin, stir the whole again at the end. After that, the variant with wallpaper paste is ready and ready to use.

The kitchen recipe

What you need for this:

• water
• dish soap
• drinking straw
• 1 large bowl
• suitable mixer

How to proceed exactly:

Step 1: Mix any amount of water with detergent.

Step 2: Add dishwashing liquid until you can blow bubbles with a straw.

Note: The kitchen recipe is an "emergency plan" that you can implement if you spontaneously feel like soap bubbles, but the ingredients you need for high-quality bubbles are not available at the moment - for example, because of closed shops.

No matter which recipe you choose in the end: The finished mixture is ideal for refilling your old Pustefix can. If you have one, you also have the advantage of already having a stable plastic pustering. Otherwise, however, there are also ways to tinker the required instrument itself to make normal or giant soap bubbles.

The pharmacy recipe

What you need for this:

• 3 l of water
• 500 ml of detergent
• 250 g of sugar
• 40 ml of glycerol
• 2 large bowls
• measuring cup
• Whisk or similar mixer

Tip: It is recommended to use distilled instead of regular tap water and neutral soap instead of normal detergent. Although these ingredients are more expensive, with them you can also achieve significantly better results. The s of simple tap water often negatively influence bubble formation. Therefore, distilled water is to be preferred. This is available in almost every drugstore or in gas stations to buy. To buy neutral soap, type the term best in a search engine and compare different providers in terms of quality and of course the price.

How to proceed exactly:

Step 1: Mix 500 milliliters of water and 250 grams of sugar together.

Step 2: Do the same with another 500 milliliters of water and 500 milliliters of dish soap or neutral soap.

Step 3: Mix the liquids prepared in steps 1 and 2 together.

Step 4: Now add 40 milliliters of glycerine.

Tip: Glycerin is available in every pharmacy. For a 100 milliliter bottle you pay about two to three euros.

Step 5: Add two more liters of water to your previous mixture and stir well again.

Step 6: Leave it for a few hours, preferably one night.

Step 7: Stir again vigorously. Done is your bubble solution.

Important: Be sure to follow the specified mixing ratio. Experiments are not recommended - any deviation from the listed information may spoil the mix in such a way that you will not get any bubbles and have to start all over again. Incidentally, this applies to all recipes.

Simply create your own pustering

To work very well, the pustering needs to be able to absorb and hold a certain amount of bubble solution. The industrial specimens manage this through the narrow gaps that you as a do-it-yourself creative can not just copy. But with brains and careful approach, it still works to come to suitable tools. Here are three examples of self-designed Pusteringe:

Rod-thread framework

If you want to make giant soap bubbles, it's best to create a rod-thread scaffold.

Step 1: Take two wooden sticks and tie an absorbent thread in between.

2nd step: Then grab another thread. This should be slightly longer than the first.

Step 3: Tie the second to the first thread - on the left and right just next to the bars.

Step 4: Now pull the bars apart with your hands. If you've done everything right, you see now that the second thread hangs like a belly under the first one. Your scaffolding is ready.

Step 5: Submerge the threads in the bubble solution.

Attention: The threads must be completely moistened. Nevertheless, avoid stirring too much or too much in the mixture. Otherwise, foam will form - and foam will not contribute to improved soap bubble quality.

Step 6: Hold the pole tips close together, then slowly and evenly raise them, opening your arms. In this way, pull the upper (first) thread taut.

Step 7: Now it's time to experiment. With your arms open, drive through the air, take a few steps, or turn. Move quickly and smoothly but not jerkily. Sometimes it takes some time until the giant soap bubbles succeed as desired. Just try a little, then it will work sooner or later.

Tip: The best way to work the variant with the rod thread scaffold in a light breeze or colder weather overall. Even raindrops can not harm the soap bubbles, as we found in our tests. So do not be afraid to create bubbles even in the wet.

Important note: be sure to pay attention to the wind direction. Why "> Effective wood wire-ring construction

The wood wire ring construction is suitable for blowing bubbles of any size. The latter are determined by the selected diameter of the wire ring. But in order:

Step 1: Attach a sturdy wire ring to a simple wooden stick. The size of the wire ring remains - as just indicated - left to you. The bigger the soap bubbles are supposed to be, the bigger the logically the ring has to be - and vice versa. You also have a free hand with regard to the shape. Make a heart or star ring.

Tip: Aluminum wire is very suitable for your individual Pustering. For a five-meter-long silver wire with a thickness of one millimeter you pay only one euro (two to three euros set for colored and two millimeters thick wires) - the purchase of the material is so very cheap. In addition, it can be bent easily, so you can reach your desired form in a jiffy.

2nd step: Wrap the wire ring completely with an absorbent thread. Above all, this task requires two things: a little skill and a lot of patience.

Step 3: Place the bubble solution in a flat container that is significantly larger than the ring.

Step 4: Now immerse the ring in such a way that it is completely moistened.

Step 5: Pull out the ring very slowly. Move as straight as possible upwards. The soap film has to jump into the ring.

Note: If your vessel is too small, the soap film forms between the outside of the ring and the edge of the vessel, which usually causes it to burst immediately.

Step 6: Pass the ring through the air. Whether beautiful soap bubbles are created, in turn, depends on the right pace and the appropriate suppleness. Just try it until you get the results you want.

Tip: With the wooden wire-ring construction, smaller children in particular have much better chances of getting nice soap bubbles.

Bend pipe cleaner

If you have no desire or time to make your own bubbles in addition to the bubble solution, you can buy a so-called pipe cleaner. It is a thin, flexible wire that is wrapped in a kind of short-haired plastic skin. Simply bend it so that it results in a pustering.

To make great soap bubbles, you do not necessarily buy Pustefix or refill your old tin with a ready-made liquid. There are several ways to make the solution with the right ingredients and the correct mixing ratio. Required ingredients include glycerine, wallpaper paste, dish soap, neutral soap, (distilled) water and sugar. You also have the opportunity to do the pustering on your own. For this purpose, you usually need wooden rods and threads or wire to make a ring from it. And then try, taste and try again, until the bubbles are as full, stable and beautiful as you can imagine!
