Sanding is an excellent way to decorate garments and accessories. In this tutorial, we show you three different ways to knit a bow. In addition, you will get some ideas on how you can modify the described models.

For the loops described here, you can use wool that is left over from other projects. It's best to knit your first loops of medium-weight, smooth yarn (four to five gauge).

You need this for a loop:

• wool rest
• a few knitting needles of appropriate strength (for model 1 + 2)
• wool needle
• Strickliesel (for model 1 + 3)

Basics

To make sure your bow gets nice edges, slip the first stitch over the right needle in each row and do not knit it. The last stitch work in each row on the right.

Knitting Strickliesel (for model 1 + 3)

If you do not have knitted nylons, you can use a circular needles instead, that is, a knitting needle with the two needles connected by a string. Hit four stitches. * Slide the stitches over the string to the top of the left needle and knit it to the right. Repeat the two steps from the asterisk (*) until the tube is long enough.

Make enough stitches to make the piece five centimeters wide. Test how many stitches you need with your wool. We struck ten stitches at needle size five.

Knit 16 centimeters smooth on the right side (that is, alternately one row each to the right and left) with the edge of the warp and chain off the fabric.

Tip: It is normal for your piece of knitting to curl up. This manifests itself in the finished loop.

Sew the two narrow edges together from the back and sew the thread ends. This will give you a rectangle where the fabric is double.

Knit a four-centimeter- long tube with the Strickliesel and chain it off.

Tip: With such a short piece, the tube stays inside the knit and you can not see how long it is. Therefore, measure the length of the thread hanging out before you start. Knitting until the piece of thread has become four centimeters longer.

Firmly tie the rectangle in the middle of the long sides with the hose. Tie the threads to the ends of the tube at the back of the loop.

Model 2 | manual

Hit as many stitches as you need for a five-inch-wide piece of knitting. How many are depends on your yarn size . We used needle gauge five and ten stitches . It is important that your mesh size is straight.

Knit in the bead pattern below with the edge of the chain. Repeat the two rows alternately until your patch is eight inches long.

1st row: 1 stitch on the right, 1 stitch on the left, etc.
2nd row: 1 stitch left, 1 stitch right

Then chop off the piece and sew the threads.

Wrap a thread several times around the long side of the rectangle to tie the loop. Finally, secure the ends with a knot on the back.

Model 3 | manual

Make a 40 cm hose with the Strickliesel. Unwrap it and sew the threads on the ends.

Now form the hose into a loop. Put one end down so that it points to the bottom left. First describe a left turn with the remainder of the hose, pass it over the lying hose and then form a right bend. Cross the tube again and place the second end to the bottom right.

Take a look at the photo of the finished loop, and you'll understand how to put it. Pull the finished shaped tube into shape and sew it together at the intersection.

Possible variations

01. Experiment to your heart's with different widths and lengths and make loops of different sizes.

02. Tie model 1 and 2 times with a tube made of knitted fabric, sometimes with a thread that has been wound several times. Alternatively, you can (especially with larger loops) make a narrow knit band and put it around the middle of the rectangle. Decorate Model 3 with a second, shorter hose that you wrap around the intersection.

03. Use a second color to set the loops.

04. Knit model 2 on the crotch right, that is, work only right stitches and a chain edge.

05. For a two-tone bow, knit some rows in a different color at the beginning and at the end of the model 2.

06. Reinforce Model 3 with wire . Insert the end of a piece of wire into the top of the knitted nappy and knit the tube around it. Always push as much wire as the hose has grown.

07. For Model 3, use knitting needles to knit a narrow ribbon instead of the tube.

08. Knitting loops made of fleece wool and similar effect yarns or use these only for setting.

09. Decorate your bow with pearls, for example, by threading the beads onto the thread you use for setting.
