Of course, like most of my manuals, it can be upgraded. Surprisingly, if you still have a few minutes more time, there are suggestions at the end of the text on how to "pimp" your bunny.

Material and pattern

The material selection

Every fabric can be used for this project. You can also combine different types of fabric (to overview), but in stretchable fabrics, please remember to reinforce them with ironing fleece. In addition, you need filling material of your choice as well as suitable decorative material, if desired. For example, there are fabrics and materials here.

The amount of material

The amount of material for the Easter bunny depends on the size in which you want to sew it. You need 2x the body circle, an approximately half as large, incomplete circle with matching cloth remnants for the ears decoration and 8 smaller pieces of cloth from the main material for the paws. Possibly two larger pieces of cloth from the main fabric, if you want to miss the rabbit also a fabric pompom.

The pattern

The pattern in this manual can be printed or traced in any size. You can also add or omit elements as you wish. For my pattern, I first made a circle on paper with a dessert dish, and then, just below the center of the circle, I added a large cereal bowl for a second circle. In the next step I have marked the places for nose and eyes and added a rabbit ear for both ears. Then, as an example, a paw followed for the four hare paws.

Tip: If you always make a note of the required number of pieces of fabric on your patterns, you should always consider the correct quantity and quantity when (possibly) buying and cutting.

Now I cut out all parts of my pattern with seam allowance. My sewing pattern does not contain any seam allowance. I cut out about 0.7 cm from the edge.

Tip: Beginners can draw on the fabric distance with a ruler. Do not worry, after the first few projects you will quickly get a feel for the required distances! Cutting parts for applications and small differences can be cut so that the one-time use part can be folded away and back again.

I cut all the required pieces of fabric according to the instructions. One front and one back each from the main fabric (2 whole circles), also from the main fabric 4 times the ear silhouettes and 8 times the paws. From the decoration fabric I cut the lower rabbit part and the inner ears for my bunny.

Nähanleitung

First everything is done, so that no strings are broken. It is also advisable to iron after Endeln all fabric parts again, then they can be sewed easier and more accurate.

Tip: If you already have the iron in your hand, iron all edges of the decorative fabric parts by the width of the seam allowance to the left! This facilitates later sewing.

Place the parts made of decorative fabric on the matching outer fabric parts and stick them firmly. Now stitch them tightly edged with a simple straight stitch.

The ears and paws are now placed right side together (ie with the beautiful fabric sides to each other) and sewn together. Use a simple straight stitch and sewing thread in the color of your main fabric. The red zig-zag stitch is my Endel result made visible to you!

Apply all parts and iron well once after shaping all corners, points and edges well.

So that your Easter bunny does not look like 08/15, you can miss him a little special feature. My bunny, for example, gets a minimally curved left ear. To do this, I bend my ear and mark the places that should meet. I sew these together by hand. In doing so, I make sure that I only bring together the top fabric layer.

On the front circle of my hare I now draw schematically nose and eyes. Of course, your Easter Bunny can also look very different than in my guide. I opted for an open and a closed eye. I apply eye and nose to my work piece in a mix of sewing and fabric colors.

Alternatively, you can also sew buttons for eyes and / or nose. As a nose, I have already seen a simple "X", even that can look cute! Let your imagination run wild!

Now it's the paws's turn. I fill it with cotton wool. Other filling options are grain fur, cherry pits, rice, scraps, herbs and much more. With cotton wool, however, the rabbit is by far the softest and lightest. When all paws are well filled, I put them up the way I want to see them finally and sew them within the seam allowance so they can not slip out of me.

Likewise, I do it in the ears of my Easter Bunny.

Finally, I can put the back of the rabbit on it, peg it and sew it all around. Please be sure to remember the turnaround opening!

After turning, I iron my Easter bunny and I also iron right at the turning opening on both sides of the seam allowance on the left. Then I also fill the main part - the body of the rabbit n - with cotton wool. I close the turning opening in one of the two classic ways: by hand with a ladder seam or short edge quilted with the machine with a simple straight stitch.

And my easter bunny is ready!

variants

One of my favorite variations: The ears are not filled too tightly with cotton, so that the lower ends are easier to fold to the middle. So you will also be sewn, that looks sweeter again! Sew, wrap or buy a pompom to sew / glue to your bunny's buttocks.

Use buttons as eyes and / or nose. Sew the rabbit in different sizes and thus create a whole Easter bunny family for your Easter decoration. Sew this pattern with the pattern and shorten the ears in half. If you then sew a tail to it, you also have a cloth cat right away.

If you want to use the Easter Bunny as a decorative element, you can create a harmonious atmosphere with Easter grass and Easter eggs. The special extra are herbs in the filling. Alternatively, you can also sprinkle a few drops with essential oil into the respective filling or on the back of your Easter bunny. Fresh notes such as lemongrass or lemon are especially good in spring. But beware! Do not overdo the crowd and do not mix too many different scents!

Quick guide
