A common variant for dyeing Easter eggs with natural colorants is staining with onion skins. In this easy-to-follow tutorial, we'll show you how to easily color Easter eggs with onions.

You need this:

• eggs
• Onion skins (from about 10 onions for 5 - 10 eggs)
• kitchen towels
• aluminum foil
• Needle
• flat plate

Note: It does not really matter if you use red or regular onions for dyeing. The color is red-brownish in each variety.

Step 1: Soak the onion skins in water for a short time.

2nd step: Moisten the eggs with water as well.

Step 3: Prepare a kitchen towel per egg.

Step 4: Take one of the towels and moisten it.

Step 5: Spread the moistened cloth on a flat plate.

Step 6: Place the largest possible pieces of the soaked onion skins on the cloth.

Step 7: Take an egg and place it on the onion skins.

Step 8: Wrap the bowls around the egg.

Tip: Add more onion skins for the top of the ice.

Step 9: Wrap the kitchen towel around the egg.

Tip: The cloth serves to ensure that the shells stick to the egg.

Step 10: Tear off a piece of aluminum foil and wrap it around the cloth with the egg and the onion skins in it.

Step 11: Do the same with the rest of the eggs as in steps 4 through 10. Afterwards with all copies a few holes in the aluminum foil sting, so that later water can get to the eggs. For piercing use a simple needle.

Step 12: Place the egg packets in a large pot and pour in cold water until the former are covered.
