Origami Christmas tree - folding instructions
You need:
- bonefolder
- several sheets of origami paper (at least in the format 15 cm x 15 cm)
- Ruler, pencil and scissors

Step 1: The origami fir tree is made up of several elements. The more elements, the more detailed the Christmas tree becomes. Prepare four square leaves in different sizes. Measure with ruler and pencil these formats and cut them clean:
- 1st sheet: 15 cm x 15 cm
- 2nd sheet: 12 cm x 12 cm
- 3rd sheet: 9 cm x 9 cm
- 4th sheet: 6 cm x 6 cm
All four sheets are now folded in the same way and then plugged into each other.
Step 2: Start with the largest leaf. Put it with the nice outside upwards in front of you. Then fold the two diagonals and open them again.
Step 3: Now apply the paper to the back. There you fold now the vertical and the horizontal center line.
Step 4: Then turn the paper over on the back side. Then fold together as follows. The open side now points down.
Step 5: Now take the down-facing corner and fold it up. Just fold the top layer. Now turn the right half to the left.
Step 6: Then repeat the 5th step on all other three sides of the paper. Now open these folds again so that the paper lies in front of you again as in step 4.
Step 7: Now take the tip pointing downwards, again only the topmost layer, and lead it right to the top. In doing so, the left side arises. Fold the corner smoothly so you can see a smaller triangle. After that hide exactly this triangle under the location which is above.
Step 8: Now repeat the procedure from step 7 on all other pages. But you have to take the paper in your hand, it can not be folded flat on the table. Finally, the origami element should look like this:
Now you know how to fold the other elements. Now fold the remaining three elements together in one and the same way. The origami fir tree is created when you put the elements together - starting with the biggest one. Finished!
The modular origami fir tree can be designed in this way in all possible sizes - you need at least three elements that it can be recognized as such.
