The complete floor is crocheted in rounds:

Round 1: Crochet 1 transitional air mesh and 19 solid meshes along the air-mesh chain. In the 20th stitch (first stitch of the chain of stitches) crochet 3 stitches. It continues on the underside of the chain with 19 fixed stitches. Crochet 3 sts in 1 stitch at the right end. Close the first round with a slit stitch = 44 stitches. (The transition air mesh is not included)

Crochet round 2: 1 transitional mesh, 19 stitches, 2 stitches into a stitch, 1 crochet stitch, 2 crochet stitches into a stitch, crochet 19 stitches, 2 stitches into a stitch, 1 stitch, 2 stitches in Crochet a stitch. Close the round with a 47 stitch = 47 stitches.

The basket bottom is ready.

Bin walls

To crochet the basket walls, the crochet direction is changed. Turn the crochet bottom to do this. Now look crochet on the outside of the basket. Crochet 3 transitional air meshes and a round with chopsticks. It is pierced only in the rear mesh member of the previous row. Close the round with a chain stitch.

This is how the basket wall should look like:

In the following rounds, crochet relief sticks: alternately 1 relief stick from the front, a relief stick from the back. Round ending: Kettmasche.

Relief sticks from the front: Take an envelope on the crochet hook, prick through the stick from the front row and crochet your stick as usual.

Reliefstäbchen from behind: Take an envelope on the crochet hook, sting from behind through the stick of the previous row and crochet your stick as usual.

After a total of only 3 rounds of rods, a nice, flat basket has already emerged, which is ideal for storing pens or key rests, etc. Of course, if you wish, you can add more height by crocheting more rounds with relief sticks. Also, the basket bottom can be increased by additional rounds.

Instructions - knit basket

Size: The finished knit basket has a size of L - W - H = 25 cm - 15 cm - 10 cm
For the knitting basket, the bottom and the individual side parts are first manufactured and then all parts are sewn together.

basket bottom

Stop = 20 stitches.

Knitting pattern for the basket bottom = smooth right with garter ribs on the edge:

  • Row 1: edge stitch, 18 right stitches, edge stitch
  • Row 2: edge stitch, 2 right stitches, 14 left stitches, 2 right stitches

Repeat these two rows each 25x until the bottom of the basket has reached a length of approx. 28 cm and chain all stitches. Row 1 and all other odd rows form the bottom of the basket; Row 2 and the other straight rows can be seen in the finished basket on the inside. Due to the entangled at the edge Krausrippen the bottom part lies flat on, without the edges twisting. So after sewing together with the side panels easier.

2 side parts (long)

Stop = 14 stitches (this corresponds to the later height of the basket)

Knitting pattern for the side pieces = frill on the right:

  • Row 1: edge stitch, 12 right stitches, edge stitch
  • Row 2: edge stitch, 12 right stitches, edge stitch

Knit a total of 50 rows (equal to the length of the floor) and chain the stitches. Work the second page as well.

2 side parts (short)

Stop = 14 stitches (this corresponds to the later height of the basket)

Knitting pattern for the side pieces = frill on the right:

  • Row 1: edge stitch, 12 right stitches, edge stitch
  • Row 2: edge stitch, 12 right stitches, edge stitch

Knit a total of 28 rows (equal to the width of the floor) and chain the stitches. Work the second page as well.

Sew basket together

The basket is sewn so that the seams are visible on the outside. First pick up one of the two longer side panels and place it along the long edge inside on the inside. (The edge stitches of the side panel are exactly above the edge stitches of the floor.) For stitching, stitch first from front to back through the edge stitches of the side panel and bottom, then back to back through the edge stitches of the bottom and side panels. (Photos) Since the number of edge stitches of the bottom and side panels is the same, this seam can be easily sewn with regular, straight stitches.

Sew the second long side of the basket on the other side against the same.

Sew on short side panels: The side panels are sewn in one piece. For this purpose, first a side wall is sewn from above, then made the bottom seam and last sewn the other side seam from bottom to top. The side seams can be stitched either through the two binding stitches or through the two initial stitches. Along the bottom seam, the stitches do not match. So that the seam does not warp, you can infect the part before final sewing and thus fix it in the correct position.

Sew the second short side part of the basket on the other side against the same.

Once all the side panels and the thread ends are sewn, the basket is already finished and you can fill it. If knitted in accordance with the instructions in this manual, it is ideal for B. to store bathroom utensils.

The basket size can be easily varied by making a little more or less stitches at the bottom. The length of the finished basket is determined by the number of rows of the bottom part. Pay attention: The number of knitted rows of the floor must match the number of knitted rows of the two longitudinal pieces. The number of knitted rows of the short side part must be the same size as the width of the bottom.
