Iron-on pearls are the perfect craft partner: you can conjure up an infinite number of creations - and each of them is easily replicable. Especially for kids, we present you cute key chains with smiley motif. In addition, there are Hello Kitty magnets and necklaces, as well as great children's bracelets in various designs - even completely without heat!

Crafting with beads for children

Who does not know the colorful beads from the school or the kindergarten? Even at home you can tinker with it wonderful - and not only pot and cup coasters.

Basically, the insertion of the beads is also good for smaller children. However, adults should always take the lead, as every manual uses heat: whether with the typical iron or with the help of an oven in the last manual.

The cute creations make great gifts - if you want to separate from them! Another tip in advance: Buy colored beads or do this (laborious) step in advance. Otherwise, the process is unnecessarily delayed and the little ones quickly lose their appetite.

Basic Guide: Butterfly

At the beginning, of course, you need the necessary materials, such as iron-on beads and plug-in frames. These are often available in a set in well-assorted craft and game shops to buy. We show you the most important steps with the help of a butterfly.

You need:

  • Bügelperlen
  • pegboard
  • tweezers
  • baking paper
  • scissors
  • Iron
  • Heavy book

Manual:

Step 1: First, you need a motif, which you can implement with the purchased ironing beads and the plug frame. You will see, there are various shaped pegboards, on which the small tips are arranged differently. The arrangement of these tips has an effect on the subject. With a straight plate on which the tips run exactly horizontally and vertically, you can already do a lot.

Round plug-in plates make it possible to plug round shapes. Hexagonal plates or shapes with spikes, like a star or a heart, make triangular shapes possible. The more you try, the more creative ideas you will have.

We decided on the butterfly. We install this on a hexagonal plug-in board. Use the tweezers to put the beads on the plate. Check exactly if the motif was also inserted symmetrically.

Step 2: Now cut a sufficiently large piece of baking paper. This must cover the complete form.

Step 3: Lay the paper on the beads. Then iron with the iron over medium heat for 30 seconds over the baking paper and the beads. Use the iron to make circular movements. You will see through the paper when you can stop. If the beads are melted and run wide, it's enough. You can also tell by the color of the pearls, which gets darker.

Tip: When removing the iron, do not pull it straight up but down the side of the paper. So the paper does not stick to the iron.

Step 4: To cool down, place the shape under the baking paper under a heavy book.

Step 5: After a few minutes, you can remove the baking paper and pull the iron beads off the plug. Done is the iron-on butterfly!

Following this principle, you can create all sorts of creative beaded pictures - animals, fruits, cars, figures, geometric shapes and patterns. Let your creativity take over your mind and body.

Other animals made of iron beads

The fox has become as much a trend figure as the owl - with the heart shape you can tinker a fox from iron-on beads. Other animals with pointed faces can be designed in this way: a cat or a raccoon.

With a strong orange or red shade, a true fox succeeds.

Of course the owl can not be missing.

With this turtle, you can see what you need to look out for when tinkering with beads. If you have a non-symmetrical image, remember that the subject will later be mirrored. This is especially important if you want to stick letters.

Coasters made of iron beads

The classic use of bow bead pictures is to use them as coasters. In the meantime, you can do much more with the pearls. But the classic coaster is still a real eye-catcher with creative patterns and color combinations.

Funny pendants and earrings

Rainbow Earrings

You can even use small, light iron-on transfers as earrings. Just create a little motif, like this rainbow and make two copies of it. After ironing and cooling earring hooks are attached. Depending on the model, you can simply prick them through the beads or attach a small eyelet to them, through which the pendant is then pushed.

Popsicle

Just like earrings, you can also design pendant pendants.

For the chain, the thread or the leather strap are subsequently pulled by one of the beads. Use a needle to prick a hole in the desired bead and then pull the thread through.

diamond

A diamond pendant is also great!

Snowflake for the winter

As a winter hanger for the Christmas tree, we recommend white snowflakes. These can best be plugged with the hexagonal plug-in board. There are many ways to make such snowflakes - bigger and smaller ones.

Melt the beads in the oven

material

  • Iron-on beads (in the desired colors)
  • baking paper
  • oven
  • Hats or similar stable rubber band for threading (available in craft shops or in the drugstore)
  • scissors
  • superglue

manual

Step 1: Lay out a baking tray with baking paper.

Step 2: Place the beads one at a time, upright - that is, with the opening facing upwards. Patience, it should be about 70 to 80 pieces.

Tip: So that the pearls do not fall over again in advance, it is best to insert the sheet already lightly in the - still cold - oven and place the beads on site. So you only have to gently push your baking tray into the oven afterwards and not transport it through half of the flat.

Step 3: Turn the oven to medium heat and stand in front of it. Watch what happens to the pearls. This is incredibly exciting for children.

Step 4: After a few minutes, the iron beads sink together and form small rings. That's exactly what you want for the bracelet, so get out of the oven!

Step 5: Now cut off enough hat cord to loosely wrap around the wrist and easily make a knot as a closure.

Step 6: As a stopper, knot one of the rings at the very end of the string.

Step 7: Then add the beads in the desired color order.

Tip: To speed up threading, simply put the string on a large needle, which will allow you to easily pick up the rings!

8th step: If you have enough ironing beads threaded rings that the arm can be completely surrounded, of course, your bracelet needs a clasp.

Step 9: To do this, loosen the knot from the stopper bead and knot both ends together well. As a fixation, wet the knot with a drop of glue.

Step 10: Overhanging thread scraps simply cut off close to the knot with scissors.
